在公共場所中,時常使用標誌去簡單且明確的告知和提醒,這些圖示都是靜止的但卻帶有動態的意象。其中,紅綠燈在台灣的使用最為特殊,它將圖示製作成動畫指示我們在路上的行進,在可以行走的狀態下為小綠人跑動的動畫,靜止下的圖示為站立的小紅人。
這樣一個跑動的狀態卻靜止且佇立在道路中,只剩下動畫還在不斷的運作。將紅綠燈可以真實的進行移動,會不會產生某種視覺衝擊,試圖藉由數位影像與真實的物理移動的結合,去混淆我們對於動態影像的認知。
我製造了一個的小型跑步機,跑步機會一直不斷的進行運作,小綠人則是在上面進行跑動,當小綠人失去體力的同時,本身會靜止並且進入小紅人的狀態,被跑步機的動力帶至後方。

In public places, signs are often used as simple and clear notifications and reminders. These icons are static but have a dynamic imagery. Among them, the use of traffic lights in Taiwan is the most special to me. The icons are designed as an animation that instruct our movement on the road. When it is the time that we can walk, the animation will be the little green man running, while the stop icon is the little red man standing.
We could see the traffic light standing still on the road, whereas the animation is still operating. What if the traffic light itself can also move?I want to create a visual impact to confuse people’s perception to moving image by mixing digital image with real life physical movement.
I created a small treadmill, which operates continuously as the little green man running on it. When the little green man loses its physical strength, it will stop and turn into the state of little red man, which will be moved backward by the operating treadmill.
